Services and fees

All historical research services regardless of size and scope will be charged at the rate of $135.00/hour for research and writing reports. This does not include any travel expenses. If travel is required, costs will be based on current United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rates for travel reimbursement including mileage, transportation, meals, and lodging. Additional fees for any incidentals required to complete the project, including but not limited to, parking fees, and copy/duplication fees will apply when warranted.

Administrative & Corporate History

Knowing your company's history can benefit your current employees and stakeholders when formulating strategic plans, deciding on changes within the company, or deciding on new changes and directions the company is considering. It can also be a great reminder of the mission and vision from the company's inception to where it is today and whether there have been changes, or if the company has maintained the same mission and vision.

District Surveys

If you are interested in expanding your existing historic district, or wanting to establish one, or place a district on the National Register, are not sure where to begin or are feeling daunted by the scope of the project, I can help.  I have conducted district surveys and written successful National Register nominations, and would be happy to help you with yours.

House & Building History

This service can be combined with the genealogical services I offer, or it can be a stand-alone project. The history of one's house or other structures can often help settle disagreements about boundary lines and ownership, and help locate a living heir who has inherited the property. It is also great for those who live in an older home and are curious about its history!

Land Use Histories

Land use histories serve a number of purposes, and using historical maps, aerial photographs, title searches, public records, archival documents, the background of sites can be traced. This research provides insight into such concerns as land ownership, the use and location of historic roads, trails, paths, routes, boundary locations, and water use.

National Register Nominations

Having your house or a district placed on the National Register of Historic Places is an honorific, and something to be proud of. If you want your house listed and are daunted by the process, I can help. Nominations include existing structures and the land on which they are sited. I have conducted district surveys and written successful National Register nominations, and would be happy to help you with yours.
